Ceramakka is the contemporary ceramic practice of sculptor Louisa Akka, creating biomorphic sculptures that bring the restorative qualities of nature into contemporary interiors. Inspired by Shinrin-yoku (Forest Bathing), Ceramakka explores the relationship between organic form, material and wellbeing, creating sculptural focal points that invite calm, considered, sensory connection to space.
Each piece explores the interplay of form, light, shadow and texture. Unglazed surfaces celebrate the ceramic material’s natural beauty, while meticulous hand-sanding creates a refined, tactile, silky-smooth finish. Sustainability is integral to the practice, utilising glaze free, single firings, and recycled armature materials.
Ceramakka sits at the intersection of contemporary craft, collectible sculpture and biophilic design, creating distinctive works for luxury residential, hospitality and architectural environments. 2026 exhibitions include Future Icons Selects, Fresh Air Sculpture and ND Selects, with work on loan at Aethos London Shoreditch. Ceramakka will feature this autumn in an interior design showcase in World of Interiors.
